Western Spring (single)

by Tim Harrison

/

about

Written during my sojourn on Gabriola Island. This is the third song about the seasons, Grey County Winter and Song Of Thanksgiving being the first two. They are all in drop-6th string tuning and I hope to add one more about the Summer soon!

The beautiful painting "Spring Thaw" is by artist Kate Dee whose friendship I am most grateful to have.

lyrics

WESTERN SPRING
© Tim Harrison and Second Avenue Songs

The warm wind comes and blows away
The winter cold and the shorter day
And the earth it nods to meet the sun
And Orion’s hunt is almost done.

And the people dance all around the square
As music flows and it fills the air
And time to breath in deep and clear
To find the love and leave the fear

And it’s time for seed to drive its way
Through the warming ground to the feeding rain
And the colours come and the gray it goes
And sun pours down and green grass grows.

And the people dance all around the square
As music flows and it fills the air
And time to breath in deep and clear
To find the love and leave the fear
